The NOx sensor which from Audi costs around £700 was purchased from Componant Authority in Leicester for.........£108 delivered!!!!I fitted the part but the "Do not start warning" remained illuminated but there were no readable codes shown. I read on the Q5 forum that this warning would disappear after a period of time, once the new sensor had reset itself which was after 30 miles, the warning did indeed go out. Hopefully this will be useful to someone out there.
    Thanks for sharing this info.

My Audi A4 2016 Avant has the same issue. Now 200 miles remains. The mechanics from my favourite garage didn't fix that after they topped up. I booked an appointment at Audi Dealer in Cambridge. They just phoned me today to quote £2070 to replace a new tank and module. It's harlarioudsly expensive. I am still on hire purchase. I have no idea how to proceed further.

I would suggest you Google the company i used in Leicester and buy the part, then find a local garage and get them to fit it, it's just a case of removing the undertrays then fitting the part which is "plug and play", it really is that simple. As i said, after a few miles running around the car reset itself. Audi are disgraceful, unless there is a problem with your adblue tank, which i very much doubt, and even then the actual cost is seriously high for what is in essence a simple job.

    Hi @stevie_s,

I was told that the Adblue tank was damaged inside but they didn't show me any evidence. Audi dealer is really disgusting honestly. I started going with them in a Hire Purchase (HP) scheme since Sep 2019 within 5 years. It remains 8-9 months to end the contract. But the vehicle had to be replaced a component to clear DPF warning light costing me £2000 when we were in the middle of the contract. Now, they asked to replace the Adblue tank costing me the same amount of money without discussing any compensation although the HP agreement hasn't ended yet.

How do you damage the inside of an adblue tank??? Do you have the codes that are coming up on your system?? I listed my codes in an earlier post so if they are the same then you are pretty much there. I can't understand why they would look inside the tank as its an inanimate object, a container for liquid and as such you would not get a code.??

I have just had to replace the adblue heating element, which is what takes the fluid from the tank to the injection point (which is just past the manifold), but this was after a further code came up which was not related to the previous sensor problem. That was an expensive part, £500+ from Audi but came in at £200 Inc from TPS parts in Notts. It took longer to get the covers off than fit the part.

The tank used in these A4's is a known failure and replacement often requires a software update.

If I recall you correctly, replacement the tank also requires to update the software. Or you meant updating the software will resolve the problem.

P/S: My car remains 200 miles showing on the dashboard. Audi dealer in Cambridge is disgraceful. They said to call me today for discussing a better solution but I have no phone call. Fortunately, I got my car back last Friday.
