Samsung S7 - no bluetooth ringtone

Previous android phones have behaved perfectly well. This newly acquired phone connects correctly and appears to behave normally in all respects - except there is no ringtone over the car audio. The dashboard display indicates there is an incoming call OK, but no ringing (other than from the phone which is usually in my pocket).
I've looked through (and tried) all the settings on MMI and on the phone but can't see anything that might solve this.
Anyone out there had a similar problem and solved it please?

Hi Have a felling there is a volume setting in a MMI menu for ring tone, same as for the Nav audio level, but not sure weather its in the phone settings or elsewhere.

There most certainly is a ringtone volume setting. Mine was really quite (an S7 too) and I managed to turn it up. You can also change the ringtone - a few to choose from. Can't remember where the setting is now though and I'm not close to my car.

By chance I found the answer... It was only visible whilst bluetooth was connected.
It was a phone software setting - somewhere under Samsung's SmartThings app.
Can't remember the details sadly (was getting to the point of trying everything and every setting!) - but now its working
