q7 MY16 service schedule

Hi

I'm in the throes of purchasing MY16 Q7 s-line from a main dealer but not Audi hence the salesman not being too clear on the service requirements. Having spoken to Audi Spec Check they advised me there has been no visits to a main Audi dealer thus far for any servicing. The car was registered in October '15 and has travelled 15k so far. I'd appreciate some guidance on what it should have in terms of servicing, if anything, up until this point.

My MY16 is just over a year old but I've only done 6.5k so no service has been required so far.

Other than service work, I'd check if any other work has been carried out to sort out any issues such as sunroof rattle.

Also, I think there has been at least one recall which should have been sorted e.g reinforcement bracket on 3rd row seats.

Approximately 20,000 miles for the first service. Which is more an 'inspections' and oil-change. Ask the salesman to pull up the service due page on the screen?

What both srbsq7 and ragebe have said.

The car will more than likely be set up for a 2yr service interval or 19-20k miles.

As Audi have gone all online for all servicing etc you won't get any service manual with the car.

srbsq7 mentions the recall on third row seats and there were a couple other ones from memory PreSense update and Brakes or something.

If you can find out as much as you can about the car as unfortunately some cars from the early days had a few early issues (check the thread on here about 4M Q7 issues) like the sunroof rattle, boot that wouldn't open/get stuck etc etc

Thanks all for your speedy responses. Seems the dealer (BMW) was correct in his assumption it was a long service interval car and 20k/2 years was the probable trigger.
As for likely faults, nothing picked up on the test drive so fingers crossed I wasn't being too blasé towards cabin noises coming from the sunroof!

I'm coming from a LR Discovery so familiar with 'issues' on cars though that said mine lasted the distance without too much pain along the way. Hopefully my first Audi will prove likewise.

for what its worth mine is a long service interval car. Purchased March 2016 and now got 17K on the clock. Dealer told me today its due service at 20K or March 2018 whichever is sooner..
Check the Service Page on the MMI, you can gauge from that when the next service is due.

My dealer has quoted me 458 quid for oil service, inspection and pollen filter... This would be for my 2 year/20000 mile '1st' service. Seems pretty steep no?

I don't think that's so bad as it's probably £200ish pound for oil change at Audi prices?

Check the breakdown on oil service as most of the time it's worked out significantly cheaper in me providing the oil to them.

the oil alone would be over £200

think I was quoted £500 ish

im dreading the service bill for the SQ7 I've asked a few dealers now and no set service price
and none of them would even quote a price

i tried to get a service pack when I got the car

but was told only for Q7

all S cars i.e. S3 S5 S8 etc and SQ7

audi do not do a service pack

M
