    Hi all

I'm toying with the idea of fitting a Milltek cat-back system to my 2012 A6 3.0 Tdi avant. They have not long released it and was wondering if anyone has fitted one and what the change in noise was especially long distance motorway driving etc.
I'm not planning on chipping it just the exhaust system for a little more fruit.

Any pointers or experiences would be super.

    Thanks

On a diesel I wouldn't bother, it will still sound like a diesel, just louder. Get the Audi active exhaust system if u want it to sound better

Yeah you can retrofit the active sound system from the BiTdi to other 3.0Tdis as I understand it- I think Kufatec offer it. What is unclear to me is if it improves performance a bit 'cos on the BiTdi (and the SQ5 and presumably the SQ7?) one of the reasons it is used is because the lack of conventional baffles means that the exhaust is free-er flowing, and weighs less.
A6 allroad BiTdi (MY14, July 2013 - DAB & power tailgate). Glacier white, tech pack (HDD Nav, colour DIS, Parking Plus), sports seats, 4 zone climate, heated seats front and rear, ambient lighting, 75L fuel tank, adaptive Bi Xenon headlights

So, Miltek stopped making the C7 TDI version of it some time ago. I was contemplating going down that route and at the time only found it available at one place (kinda old stock scenario). Confirmed this with Miltek direct so gave up on them.
Then the research returned some interesting results. Either the BiTDi retrofit (where the only thing you get is the sound - albait artificial) or, you can try the real thing and look at www.supersprint.com. They have some fantastic options but you can easily render your car street illegal. Don't forget, you already don't have the central muffler - it's just the pipe there.

    Hope this helps...

It's only slightly larger in diameter, I wouldn't say it adds much more power, just slight improvement over standard setup.

Have Milltek re-released something for the C7 as there is nothing on their website??

A catback exahaust will add next to no power; it's done mainly for the sound and looks if you change the look of the tailpipes

if you want a bit more performance you have got to get rid of the DPF............and even then performance gains are not massive

I want a bit more noise and some oval pipes on my 3.0; I've toyed with the idea of an RS6 diffuser but in all honesty all I want is some oval tailpipes so might look at cutting my existing diffuser

I'm talking about 3.0 tdi too. But any info I have researched is for the a7. The sound with the active exhaust system should be very similar across all Audi 3.0tdi lumps. Buying direct from Germany seems to be cheapest route, well at least for the a7. It's on my list of things to buy this year for my 2012 a7, once I smuggle the funds away from the eyes of the missus!
