Try deleting everything. Car first then phone. Pair again and go from there. Works for me hopefully it will work for you.

Had the same problem, 2007 A6 C6, connecting to HTC 0ne M8, used to work and then started having problems, tried deleting call history still didn't work, in-paired and re-paired, the only thing that worked was a complete reset of my phone, no longer have any issues and phone connects without any problems. hope this helps. Don't forget to do a full back up of your phone.

Yes... the car was doing this with my old iPhone 5. I have since had an upgrade to iPhone SE and the Same thing. Has Bluetooth changed? The car was scanned and everything is good with MMi and phone.

I used to have this problem back in RNSE days.

It was down to the category the tel number was placed in

If it was home, work or mobile, it would work fine, if it was any other category it just didn't like it.

It can take a few minutes to read the address book off the phone after it pairs as can bee seen that dialled number, received calls etc do not appear immediately upon pairing

Not saying that is the same issue, but the common factor here is your address book is identical with both phones

do you have any other device connected via bluetooth to the phone? this afternoon i´m going to try disconnecting the sports band that I have to see if the phone keeps disconnecting or not.

I´ve tested iphone 4 with ios 7.1.2 with no problems detected nor any problem with an iphone 5 not updated (and not connected to other devices) but i do have problems with my iphone SE...

Finally figured it out ....something to o with the categories the contacts are placed in. I found that turning off address book names makes for a good connection.

There is an option to stop the car sharing the address book as well
