Anyone designed an enclosure for the C7 saloon boot space?
I'm working on one for a single 10" sub but I have a couple of 10's and some 8's from previous builds.
Just lookin for ideas and what placement people have had success with.

Here's 25 litres net for my Hertz Mille, the angle will push against the seat back and sub will fire towards the back.
Not sure if I should fire it across the car instead.

Got the box done this weekend.

    Got the slot port made

Got the sub out of the old box from the A4

    Front baffle made

Front baffle painted with 'stone fleck'

Port painted black but a bit of high viz paint on the back wall

    Buttoned up

Lost in the vastness of the C7 boot

Been in 2 weeks and I came across a great deal on a DVC 12" sub with a lot more power handling, so the 10 is out.

Rework to the box to mount the larger sub to the front baffle and back in.

Very crisp response but the internal slot port is tuned a bit to high and is taking up a bit too much box volume, so an external slot port is coming soon.

External port re-work was my xmas prezzie to myself today!

The (takes up a huge space) internal port for the 10 is out.

Got a new 4 post terminal plate so I can run different loading on the amp.

    New side external port

Fitted and the new front baffle taking shape too

Had to take a break to feed Chips, he was angry hungry

Port cut through the baffle and some paint

    Finished, happy Xmas to me!

    Nice work!

Been a few years since subs interested me (52 next month!) But do remember epoxying the MDF joins and then completely painting the interior, undercoat and then satin finish.

But am guessing speaker technology has moved on a pace since my last 12yrs ago

    Cheers
It's still the same fundamentals, but voice coils have got bigger and power handling a lot bigger!
FG inside boxes for sealing and stiffness is still popular, when running over a couple of kW most people are building with birch ply for stiffness.

I had quite a break for the first 6 years or so of my kids arriving then when we moved to Chicago and I had garage space to work on cars inside (and bigger cars) I started to get back into it.
We moved back to Blighty in 2013 and it wasn't until last year that I decided to FG the enclosure into the pocket in the back of the A4 Avant.

This build was a budget job (supposedly) using only kit I had and MDF.
It did until the SXX came up and I thought it was a motor/basket that I wanted to try.
Need some sound deadening now, there's quite a few rattles!
