    Hi,

My A6 V6 TDI is dead but has 3/4 of a tank of diesel in it. How would I go about siphoning the fuel out so I can re-use it?

Down the filler neck is a no-no as it has an anti-tamper device.

Is it possible to connect an in-line pump to the fuel filter and suck it out from there? Or is there a better method?

Don't really want to mess with the under-seat pump if I can avoid it as I would like to sell the car as intact as possible for spares/repairs (and currently does start).

    Thanks,

    Chris

the only way i know how is the under seat in tank pump way, it's not that hard o remove and refit them, also i bought a cheap fuel pump with positive and negative posts and use 2 bits of hose at each end then run some wire from the car battery to the pump and just drop the end in tank, there may be a way of disconnecting the fuel lines under the car before it reaches any electrical pumps but i'm not savvy on the A6

In Allroad C5 TDI a clear flexible plastic tube 12 mm diameter 2.2m Length Do the job, 1.1 meters go into the tank The rest comes to the ground. A small Sucking and empty container. After that get the most Under the back seat left side of the vehicle Has a easy access You can get into the fuel tank to remove the rest

Don't these vehicles have a little filter down the filler tube, which stops siphoning?

Am I right in thinking if the tank is 3/4 full, opening the pump in the back seat will result in a bunch of diesel in the passenger compartment?

I am not sure what a=495mm is referring to, or what the photo is telling me. Sorry to be dense.

Before you open the pump Open the fuel filler cap Insert through the fuel filler Clear plastic Flexible pipe D= 10-20 mm, Half a meter or more length, The other end of the pipe must reach the ground and Sucked the fuel

Thanks - stuck some hosepipe down there tonight and indeed you can get to the fuel. Ordered a syphon pump from Amazon to get it going, as don't fancy getting a mouth full of fuel...

How much should I be able to get from the tank before I need to access the pump?

    Thanks

    Chris
