How can longlife servicing be justified if the mileage they specify will be attained within a year. wouldn't annual be better?

TBH i was looking forward to seeing service in 18 - 19K appearing on the dash.

From VW's perspective it sounds good when selling the car, mainly from a fleet perspective and the customer thinks they will have to spend less on serving with less inconvenience. The interval for Longlife is two years/20K miles. The system does benefit fleets as they can buy a new car, run it for two years, sell it and not service it.

The dash has been reset to standard; probably the mechanic did the reset on the panel, not via the diagnostic computer.

Privacy policy About Ross-Tech Wiki Disclaimers .If you can get the dealer to check you adaption channels you will be ble to calculate what has gone wrong,if they appear ok check channel 48 as this can indicate incorrect oil type which monks thee settings up as the quality is poor and the oil level sensor calculates a lower than expected duration as does channel46 and 47 also.

    rang them.

it seems that the car is capeable of adjusting the service counter by its self.

so if you were to thrash the car everywhere then you would reduce the interval likewise with lots of short journeys, however, do motorway mileage and the car may increase the interval.

Its all down to the way its driven.
