Tapping & clicking noise from engine

Hi peeps,

please help I have a c6 2.0 tdi 2006 yr the car was running fine with no problems what so ever, but ever since I had the egr valve and mass air replaced I have been getting this tapping/clicking noise from the engine bay. I had to drive the car a few miles to get to my garage when the egr and mass air flow went on me and i started getting a tapping noise I've had the egr and mass air replaced, but the noise is still there and it worse in the morning and the calms down also the idle flickers as though it misses a beat and is not smooth

Get the car scanned, look for fault codes relating to V157 intake flap motor. You don't say how the MAF and egr were diagnosed but the intake flap is also related to this system and may have been the original fault all along. I'm having to change one on a 1.9tdi today for similar symptoms to yours, clicking and rough intermittent running, and mil on, as the flap is incorrectly positioned at certain speeds and loads.suspect the plastic gears and quadrant are goosed.

Tnks for getting back to me, i did have a scan done by my garage who used a snap on diagnostic machine which only came up with EGR valve error and Air mass and it did say low boost pressure as well, i think i will have to get a VCDS scan done how much would it cost for a intake flap motor?

143 notes for a Febi throttle flap body and motor. It is a different unit for the 1.9 tdi from the swirl flap motor link Mark posted up. Get a better diagnostic done and look online for videos of the unit i'm on about and check for info specific to your engine. Beware of chinese parts being passed off as genuine or oem. I had trouble with an ebay seller a while back. Been using Murray's Direct for ebay parts lately. Good service off them. Low boost pressure could be related to a faulty N75 solenoid clicking and not operating the turbo vnt corre tly.
