Hi whats the best oil money can buy?

Mechanic wants to use Millers CFS 5w40 but lots of people are saying this damages the DPF and therefore its better to stick with 5W30, can anyone confirm?

    Thanks.

Unless it's highly tuned or / and you spend long durations of full throttle such as track or Autobahn use 507.00.

Only use Quantum LL3 5W30, it's less than £25 from any VAG dealer but depending on your location this is an excellent price Quantum Longlife 3 5W-30 Fully Synthetic Engine Oil 5 Litre Bottle SPECIAL PRICE | eBay

That's correct , Nanodrive is just marketing .

CFS an ester marketed oil probably contains anti wear metals that burn leaving high ash levels that would block a dpf .

Fuchs do produce an ester marketed low SAPS C3 called Fuchs Titan Race Pro C3 .

But approved 507.00 Quantum-Longlife III , Castrol Edge , Shell Helix Ultra etc is suitable for PD engines and a PD camshaft has narrow lobes that are vulnerable to wear , now if 507.00 protects PD it's more than enough going to protect a common rail .
