Replacing AGM Battery

I have a 2013 Passat B7, bluemotion diesel model, I'm concerned about replacing the battery.
From reading different forums some mentioning fitting matching BEM batteries and having them re-coded afterwards and others saying that as long as the battery is matched in capacity it will be fine.


Can anyone advise on this please?


Car currently has a Varta 7PO 915 105 battery, BEM: VAO230110A0KQ.
I've found replacement from Tayna, https://www.tayna.co.uk/E39-Varta-Start-Stop-Plus-AGM-Car-Battery-570901076-P4367.html, which I believe should do the job (right capacity), but not sure if I can just swap it out?

I swapped mine over and never done any re-coding and it worked just fine. Go with the same battery and all should be good.

Thanks Steve, think I will go for the Varta and see how I get on. I never needed to worry about coding when I replaced the battery on the Octavia, and that was fine.
