Has anyone had to top up the adblue yet? I've got a trip to the Alps in a few weeks and want to know whether it's worth topping it up before I go or not. My car has the optional 24 litre adblue tank and I haven't got a clue how much is in there.

The car is now 3 months old and covered nearly 8k miles.

    TIA

I've read that consumption is around 1.5lt per 650mls so if your tank was full initially you will get to around 10,000mls. Bearing in mind you get a warning around 1,500mls to empty I'd be topping up now 👍
    When it's gone it's gone

Mine was topped up at 1,800 miles, me thinks it left the factory far from full. The warning is back on again now at 7,500, so that'll be around 7,000 miles between top ups.

My adblue warning light came on this morning (2000 mile warning), so decided to fill up at a local Shell garage direct from the pump.

I can confirm that you can fill a car up from a pump (it took a few minutes for 18 litres) and it's about half price compared with buying a 10 litre container. For info, the cost was £0.699/litre.

When I got back in the car, the message flashed up showing the adblue range was 10500 miles (I have the 24 litre tank).

    Hi,

I am on my second fill of Adblue.
I have the smaller 12litre tank.
I am using 10 litres for every 9000-10000km.
warning comes on with 2000km to go.
Just a note on refilling, VW garage tried to sell me a complicated looking pipe with 10Litre can (€15 or €20).
previous garage gave me a 4 inch long nozzle (for free) which worked perfectly

Not sure I don't remember there being an option when I ordered the car, so I'm guessing 12 litres

It wasn't obvious that you had a choice to increase the size of the fuel and adblue tanks at no additional cost.

I went for the larger fuel tank but didn't see an option to increase the Adblue tank, in fact at the time I think it may have reduced it, I checked on the configurator the other day an there was an Adblue tank option which I don't remember seeing back in Jan when I placed my order.
