I had the particulate filter warning on my 2015 A6 BiTDI a few weeks ago and I hadn't had the chance to take it on the motorway. Now I have the engine warning and the coil light on and the car is in limp mode.

Can I just take it on the motorway to clear it up or is it too late now?

Probably too late as it won't let you rev it in limp mode. The dealer can force a regen.

It does let me take it up past 2k revs, albeit slowly.

Take it to the dealer and let them sort it, it's why you have warranty Also phone the dealer up as depending on how far you are away they may get the car collected.

I know the local dealer pretty well (bunch of unfortunate circumstances with the previous A6) and they recommend I go through Audi Assist. When they book it in it more or less skips the queue and I'm guaranteed a like for like hire car.

    Will call them tomorrow :-)

They all have ODIS system so they should be able to, however it depends on the fault codes the ECU. Whatever happens they will at least get your car to the dealer to be fixed.

If I were you, I would want to know why a 2015 BiTDI has a problem with the particulate filter - regardless if you exclusively do short journeys that is much too early to have that kind of problem.

Easy , they're not fit for purpose , having to take it on the motorway for a poo , it's like owning a dog.

How is extra motorway journeys saving the planet and health.
