Over the past couple of years I have been using BP ultimate and occasionally a tank full of Shell or Esso diesel, supermarket stuff is an absolute no no. Recently I filled up with Shell v Power diesel and after about the second tankful I find the engine performing much better, it seems to have more power and that's at a mileage of 120000, not noticed any difference in economy as I have a heavy right foot.

Anyone else using V Power diesel and what are your thoughts on it.

Both the Derv and petrol V-Powers have a cleaning agent in them that does actually work.

On the petrol side I unknowingly was using Asda's 91RON soup where before there'd always been a sticker on the pump saying 95RON (the minimum for my BPY engine which is tuned to Stage 1 anyways) Was commuting at the time so didn't think much of it until I came to do the occasional long run: Newmarket from Blackheath, Worthing, or Southampton. Then I'd notice a fall in the usual 40+ MPG and sluggishness.
Eventually noticed the change in the Asda sticker ("this fuel conforms to BS bs" instead of the RON)

Was at about 50k then so got the Shell Club card and did 900L of the good stuff. What a difference! . Apart from it being 100RON of course That was four years ago, so now retired, no commuting in London rush hour traffic (carbon maker), and up to 86k now. So will do another course.

You can go to Wynns, or Forte cleaners from *********, but you don't get the miles that way and the price difference (with the club card rebates) is much the same

Ive only ever put vpower diesel in my b6, plenty of friends say why bother it ain't no Ferrari, but for me the cars quieter feels like its got more poke and I do get more milleage from the money. For the £6 or so it may cost me more for a full tank id rather use the good stuff instead of the cheapo supermarket crap

    Never a problem .

Since owning my B6 (8 months) I have put Shell V power in and good use of the shell card helps. I did need fuel at a time when there was only an Esso garage available to me and put their version in and guess what? I got less that the shell! Couldn't believe it but it was true so only shell goes in my car. Just gotta keep kicking the wife's a*se to stop her using supermarket rubbish in her 2.0 Tfsi!
VW Passat 140 Highline estate 2008, Mods will be window tint and re-map.

Seat Leon sport 2.0 Tfsi in black.

Got good results with a course of 900L of the Shell V-Power jungle juice. Well, it's 100RON as well
Where I got caught was Asda that changed its pump stickers for the "This fuel meets BS.****" bs from their 95RON ones, and I didn't notice. It'd dropped to 91RON. So used the cleaner two years back. Will do it again this spring.

Tesco have made much advert play of they're meeting the 95 (or 100) RON standards. If it says 95RON (OK for our BWA engine up to 4,000 RPM) on the pump then use it. Sainsbury's did the label change thing too down to 91RON. There may be others that try to catch customers out. I don't drive like I used to nowadays, don't have the reactions, so I like tootling along getting the economy

Course, an Audi thingy off the line does tempt! They don't like being dumped in my tailstream (Stage 1 remap, uprated diverter valve) when they've spent so much more!

Your Seat would benefit from a re-adaption of throttle body, intake manifold control flaps, and readiness. Do mine twice yearly, just done it last week and already noting an extra 2 - 3 MPG in town traffic.

For my 56 1.9tdi passat I went from Shell V Power to Tesco and noticed an incease in mpg and same performance... I know it doesn't make sense but there it is. I never used to get more than 630, 640miles from a full to the rim tank and now I get 680 and even 730 on long journeys. 42-45 mpg mixt
The only fuel I've notice a lack of performance and mpg was the BP one.
