Yes the flow is going elsewhere than to the rear screen so Ill have to start taking up carpets. It would help if I knew which side the pipe went. Can anyone help?

From behind glove box (rhd), Along left inner sill under carpet, then up over rear wheel arch, emerges in boot cubby hole on left. It can leak in a few places along this route, also within the rubber boot between body and tailgate (right hand side if I remember rightly).

If there is no water flooded carpets in the rear seat With a similar smell to the flushing fluid, I think that is right look for free or torn tube near the sprinkler pump. (At the bottom of the washing liquid container)

When the rear washer stopped working I realised that the water might be leaking somewhere it shouldn't so I refrained from using it so I don't have wet carpets (I think). The wash container looks a favourite place to start the hunt.

It might be worth checking the pipe join right in the back corner (under the toolbox and CD changer rack). That joint blew apart on mine one winter when the washer fluid froze in the rubber bellow up by the tailgate hinge.

I tried the rear washer and there was nothing except an asthmatic wheeze from the pump and half a pint of Smurf wee dribbling out onto the floor behind the wheel arch.

Same as above, mine had burst at that joint in the boot cubby hole, filling that corner with pish. As well as in the rear passenger footwell where the pipe had split and someone had previously tore up the carpet and bodged it together with micro bore central heating pipe!?.. Successfully I might add..
