I cant find the setting in the MMI that would allow me to alter the sound of the parking sensor alerts.

Its so loud, its a deafeningly horrible high pitch beep, Im desperate to lower its noise !

    Is it possible ?

Yes, there should be an option in one of the MMI menus. On my old C6 and current C7 I can adjust both volume and pitch. I'd assume that an A4 is similar.

    From the manual:

The settings for the graphic display* and acoustic signals are controlled via the sound system or MMI*.

Select: Function selector button CAR > Audi parking system.

    Display*

    • off - The parking aid gives only acoustic warning signals when it is activated.
    • on - The graphic display or the reversing camera image* will be displayed when the parking aid is activated.

    Warning beeps

    • Rear volume - Volume of the rear sensors
    • Rear frequency - Frequency of the rear sensors
    • Front volume* - Volume of the front sensors
    • Front frequency* - Frequency of the front sensors
    • In-car entertainment fader - The volume of the current audio or video* source is reduced when the parking aid is switched on.

You will hear a short test tone each time you make a new setting.

    Note

    • You can also change the warning beep settings directly from the graphic display* or reversing camera* picture. Simply press the control button for Settings*.
    • New settings are not activated until you switch on the parking aid again.
    • The settings will be automatically stored and assigned to the remote control key.

Is your parking sensors factory fitted. IF NOT you might have to find the control module for your parking sensors and see if it has an adjustment for volume.

Check your parking sensors and see how they look, if they are fitted flush with the bumper with a black ring round the outside of them, they will be factory fitted and should adjustable within your car settings. If it has a raised sensor with a large coloured ring around the outside of the sensors then its aftermarket and hence you need to find the module.

There is a strange thing behind the headrest of 1 of the rear seats, like a mini flat speaker, definitely not factory fitted, I'm wondering if the parking sensor unit is after-market as this motor has nothing in the MMI to allow anything to do with parking.

I will take photos and report back

    Definitely after market fitting.
Check on the mini flat speaker for a switch on the side. Usually there are 3 settings for the volume on the side. There should also be a control module behind one on the side panels in the boot, check this for volume control.

    Good luck!

I don't think Audi would retrofit, they generally go aftermarket for people that don't have a parking system. You could if you wanted and buy a complete kit but it does involve some wiring to some of the systems in the car and coding, depends on how DIY your comfortable with
