Hello thanks for letting me join
My Seat Leon 1.6 TDI 63 plate which I've own from new and fully main dealer serviced had the turbo fail at 33k 10 days after a service
The dealership has said that the engine has low compression on 1 cylinder
    Is this a common problem
    Thanks in advance
    James

James - welome to the forum.

I think you'll get a better response in the Leon section of the forum:

Since car has a full service history and is a 63 reg. it would be good idea to approach dealer for a warranty claim to see what they say. Low compression & turbo failure at this age and mileage is not normal and indicates an engine fault.

Most problems with the 1.6 CR TDI I've seen here seem to do with the egr cooler leaking. I dont know about the low compression on the vw 1.6 being common, but my pals ford TDCI went in with misfire and knocking on one cylinder, it was a bust small end and I suspected an injector had dripped and filled a cylinder, hydraulic locking the engine when next started. That was a Delphi fuel system, it got repaired at great cost and never ran right again. Fight your corner with the dealership as CR diesel system repair costs are eye watering.
