    Hi all

    Car: Golf 4 1.6sr 2004

I am experiencing a loss of power with my mk4. while my foot is on acceleration it would loss power and car will idle funny. like a judder sound. Its gotten to a point where the idle will drop till the car switches off. If I leave the car off for a while then the issue will be gone for a while.

    All that's been done:
    Head gasket fixed
    spark plugs replaced
    cleaned throttle body
    front exhaust box
    sensor above exhaust replaced
and issue persisted, my 'mechanic' said he doesn't know what's wrong.

I had the same issue quite some time back and a sensor was replace but not sure which 1.
    Please advise if possible

Would recommend scanning the car, sounds like crank position. Did you disconnect your TB while cleaning it?

Coil pack perhaps. Scan scan scan, saves a fortune replacing random parts. These aren't only mechanically driven vehicles. The ecu is there to log faults and operate the machine

I must still get a diagnostic test done.

The hall sensor was replaced in 2007.
What are the life expectancy of this sensor?
And what are the chances it is the cause?

They are a well known problem on the AKL but which variation of the code are you getting?
