Hi there. I'm wondering if anyone has an idea what could be causing my N/S rear brakes to be binding slightly after new discs and pads all Roy d the car. I rewound the Piston back in as I should. All the others wheels seem fine but this on is hot. This is the first time I've had it out since the change. Can't really see what I could have got wrong.

    Thanks

did you get the pad carrier brackets nice and clean before fitting the pads or where they tight to get in? might be the pads jammed in position after first brake application.

You should always remove the two slider pins on the caliper, clean them up and re-coat with a little anti-corrosion grease and re-seat them. Also clean up the two rubber grommet at either end of the pins. With the pads out and the caliper off the wheel, the slider pins should easily press in and pop back out (by themselves). If the pins are badly corroded, see an earlier post of mine for a link to a co who offer replacements.

Thanks for that. Yeah the pins were in great condition as were the grommets. I greased them up a little and they slid perfectly. I'm wondering if he handbrake mechanism could get itself jammed a little. I'll get the wheel off tomorrow and have a look.

Might just be the pistons are getting older and are scored with grit getting in.

After some messing it turns out that the Pistons were just sticking a bit and after some WD40, rubber grease and a few pushes in and out and all is good.
