    Sorry wrong forum area, she's a B7

Hi folks, I fitted a new driver side regulator today, didn't even think there would be any problems with alignment as I couldn't see any way it would go askew with the securing points
the window would only go down to start with, would not go up? cut a long story short, dismantled the sealed window switch unit and cleaned all connections, window working perfect now
but I did notice a scraping noise as it would go up?
Mrs was first to take the car out on the road, she came back and told me it was leaking as she could hear wind noise?
I went out and heard it for myself, then checked the window, sure enough she is misaligned ( see photos )

Any advice on how to correct this gratefully received

    Cheers
    Stuart

Go back into the door, loosen the clamps on the glass, push the glass back up to its correct parked position and then lock the clamp bolts again.Bit of a pain to open it all up again, but all you can do really

I did the regulator swap at Christmas on my 52 A4 cabriolet, basically if the motor has parked correctly at the top you just shove the glass home and lock it.
I was a bit worried because the cabriolet has a drop function when the door opens, trying to gauge for the drop/raise when I locked the bracket bolts, as it happens because the door was open during the work, it works it all out for itself
    Good luck

Yeah, Thanks again, what you are saying makes sense, the damned cable holder on the regulator fell out and both cables sprung loose from the carrier :O
it took me near on 2 - 3 hours to get it back in again, when installing, I neglected to push the window fully up into the door frame, when it came to tightening
the bottom bolts, I had to slightly pull the regulator frame legs to the left, thinking about it now, if I had fitted it correctly the holes would have lined up perfectly

oh well, you live and learn.... sigh
