I am new to the forum

I was wondering if anyone would be able to help.

Recently in the mornings I seem to be having trouble starting my car.
it will crank for about 8-10 secs and then blow some white smoke from exhaust. An error message "EPS/ABS fault See owners manual" appears briefly before disappearing. There are no warning signs on car after it starts.

Hi
Your battery voltage looks like its dropping while cranking which is bringing in the ABS codes, how old is the battery? If its the original, likely it is struggling to hold charge overnight and give you low cranking speed and the slow start.
There may be others along later who know more than me, but i'd look into the battery first, maybe check terminals are clean and secure as well.

The battery was replaced by an independent garage just a few months ago. It was not the original Audi battery but a Bosch s5 one I think.
I was thinking it could be the battery but obviously wasn't too sure. Could it be the battery is faulty or maybe not coded properly?

Sorry, don't know much about coding the battery. Worth getting in touch with the garage, battery should be warranted for 12 months maybe?

Glowplugs perhaps?

Have you tried turning the ignition on for a few seconds then off then on again a few times then cranking?

I will give that a try in the morning. I've cleared all the faults and then will do another scan in the next few days. I'll post it here when I do.
Also, going to visit the garage and show them my findings so far. Battery issue, glow plugs etc.

I've tried the glow plug on-off method a few times but it made no difference. Car was just cranking and it finally started up after about 8 seconds. The cranking sounding like it was getting stronger as time lapsed.

Just to update...

Spoke to garage over the phone (who fitted the battery). They will contact the company for battery issue and get back to me.

I realize that the cranking problem happens in the morning (after the car has been left standing overnight) so I decided to give it a start at 3am in the morning to see if there were any problems (I had last driven it about 8pm that evening). It started with no problems. Then when I left to go to work again at 8am (when I would usually expect the cranking problem) it started fine.

So it seems the problem happens after a long standby.

As for the air in fuel - that sounds depressing already!

I will go into the garage when they want to take my battery out to send back and tell them the symptoms.

I have the exact same fault.
I beleive it is the starter motor as fault.
