Hi all - new here so Hello!

just about to put a deposit on the above car. It's 2010 with 53k miles, new tyres, new brakes. Anything I need to be particularly cautious of before I commit?

Welcome. A fine choice of steed!

I've had my 2010 170 S-line Quattro for 18 months and 27k miles now (just gone over the 100k) and the only issue I had was a knocking lower steering column. Look out for a slight 'dull thud' coming through the steering wheel, every quarter turn or so at parking speeds. It turned out to be the section of the steering column that disappears through the bulkhead near the pedals.

Apart from that, no issues at all.

Obviously make sure the clutch is strong and the biting point is nice and low (quattro clutches can take a beating as they just don't spin the wheels, so the clutch takes the abuse if the former keeper/s were lively off the line). Obviously do the usual checks you would when buying a used car (service history, speak to former keepers if poss etc.)

Oh, and at 53k, you'll want to run it in! Should be nice and loose at about 100k! ;-)

Is it a very late 2010?

I'll probably get put back in my box very quickly but I thought the BE wasn't available before 2011?

I assume Black Edition and yes late 2010.

When insured it comes up as 'Special Edition' and the advert States Black Edition styling.....I've compared specs and it's exactly the same as later Black Editions so either way I'm happy

. Will double check v5 when I collect on Thursday.

I bought it for the economy (from a 23MPG 4x4) so it's a bonus to have the styling etc, it was primarily who would give me the best deal.....its in White which looks pretty cool with privacy glass and J Spoke alloys (which are not standard BE spec I don't think).

So official BE or not I'm happy.
