Hinge has snapped on glovebox door. I've removed the whole glovebox but the 'pin' on which the hinge pivots doesn't want to come out and I can't see any easy way of doing it. Has anyone managed to repair one of these, or do you just replace the whole shebang?

Hi I repaired mine by shaping a piece of 1mm thick steel metal plate and drilling holes and using self tappers try to follow the curved contours of the hinge, use some araldite and screw the lot together, I did mine by removing the glovebox only, the pins will come out but they are really tight, I recall having to drill some holes on a very acute angle, so either use a short drill or an extra long one. They only break because the dampers get too tight, which stresses the hinge, some people remove the damper altogether, but I sprayed mine with wd40 to make it much smoother.

    Thanks guys

I've managed to get the pins out using pincers to grip around the back of the pin head, then hammer out. Wasn't too bad in the end.
