I was looking recently for tyres for my old shape A3 and got a quote for 4 Dunlops (205 55R16 W speed rated) fully fitted from blackcircles.com at less than £276.

    P6000's were £ 71 each.

Haven't bought them as I have now sold the car but have seen others on here suggest the retailer. They ship the tyres to a local fitter near you. Sounds a sensible way to sell tyres.

Not sure what size you were after but might be worth a quick look on the net.

You need to plop your tyre size on here for people to help you out.

For instance I have 225/45/17's and run Dunlop SP9090's which are proving to be very grippy in the dry and excellent in the wet. I'm not sure about tyre wear just yet though. £90 a corner

The old SportMaxx tyres that I did have on them wore very well indeed, 15k. In saying that it is sown to the power of the car and the driving style.

Jeremy Clarkson went through a set of new tyres on Top Gear once in one afternoon.

I would say however that I will ONLY use e-tyres these days as their costs are cheap and their service is excellent.

I used to run Continental Sport Contact II's on my old car and they were brilliant. The grip was good and they lasted for ages. They were on 205/55/16's, they were about £90 a corner in that size.

Well, i've just ordered another set of tyres for the front of my A3.

The original ones were SportMaxx and that lasted 15k, the ones i'm replacing are SP9090's (same as sp9000's). These have lasted about 13k so not as good.

I've ordered two Bridgestone RE050's (Pootenza's) and will let you know how i get on with them.

Which recommended them as a best buy.

    Their top five are:

    Michelin Pilot Sport PS 2 - 73%
    Bridgestone RE050 - 71%
    Bridgestone ER300 - 70%
    Continental Sport Contact 3 - 70%
    Pirelli P3000 - 70%

    They are rated for:

    Dry Braking
    Dry Handling
    Wet Braking
    Wet Grip Straight
    Wet Grip Bend
    Wet Handling
    Noise
    Rolling Resistance
    Wear
    Eco Rating

Well I just bought a Pirelli P6000 tyre (205/55/16 rating 91W) 2nd hand on eBay (£21 delivered). It had 6mm tread. Considering a new one has 8mm and costs £60+ I think I got a good deal.

Balancing and fitting did cost me £10 at my local though.

P6000 - check it out. Performance tyre, cool tread pattern and not too expensive.

I used Goodyear Eagle F1 (£85 - £110) on my previous A3 and will use them again on my present car when the time comes
There is a BIG difference in tyre pricing so it is worth hunting the best deal down and make sure you are quoted for fitting, valves and balancing as some charge seperatly for them
The tread pattern is nice aswell

I think i knew that, or remembered that you recommended them.

The E-Tyres guy will be here in the morning.

I'm really hoping that they last more than 13k.

otherwise it's gonna be an expensive year this year. I've already had an expensive couple of months:

    Nov - insurance - £840
    Dec - Tax - £140
    Jan - two tyres - £189
