10274 - EGR Temperature Sensor 1

[cypermethrin]

i have had my MY2014 A6 Allroad for a month now and its been great.

Sadly the engine warning light came on over Christmas and apparently due to 10274 - EGR Temperature Sensor 1 - see below

This has been on for the last 4 days and approx 150 miles - the last trip being 70 miles at 70 mph

i have booked it in to local delaeship next week.

but today it has decided to clear itself on its own ! engine mamangement light no longer on.

So do I keep the appointment and get them to check it over or leave it ? also noticed 0019 - Motor for Fresh Air / Recirculated Air Flap being pinged - is this usual or should it go in for this anyway ?

It is under warranty.... take it in and get it checked. Better to have these things sorted under warranty (maybe they will replace some parts) than to wait for it to develop into a proper and inconvenient failure or lurk until warranty has expired.

I would get them to look at that HVAC issue as well.

I occasionally have the same HVAC fault code - I put it down to lack of use of the recirc button. I now use the button once a month to keep it lubricated etc, and have had no further issues since. Don't clear the faults with VCDS as otherwise the dealer wont be able to start a warranty claim, they need to see the fault code for themselves.

so the car went to the delearship and they duley chnaged the temp sensor under warranty without any questions and all was well. Did not even have to argue about it; seems my paranoia was unjustified. Car has been great since.
