    Hi
I'm trying to find out where the intake air temperature sensor is on my passat pd130 tdi.

I ran a health check recently after continuous decreasing fuel economy ( VCDS AND PD TDI ENGINE HEALTH CHECK - PASSAT)

My temperature reading for the air intake (measuring blocks 7 on vcds) shows ambient temp but then rises with engine temp and fluctuates between 30 & 50 deg c during a drive. according to the health check it should remain constant? Where do I find this sensor as I cannot see one located on the airbox anywhere. I unplugged the sensor on the intake pipe pre intake manifold and that seems to send the reading wild....so is this the sensor? If so it doesn't make sense that temp should be constant as this is air port turbo and intercooler.

Have also changed fuel temp sensor as it appeared to not be reaching optimum fuel temp reading.

    thanks

Oh bugger so its integrated meaning the only way to sort that is a new MAF/AMM? Great....so much for a cheaper fix

I'm guessing this kind of fault will not benefit from spray cleaning the maf either?

    Thanks for the reply

i think it is. try disconnecting the amm, the temp reding should go to a default value and stay there.

Ok just tried that. Unplugging maf has no effect on the intake temp.

Unplugging the the thrust sensor (i think it is), the one on the plastic intake pipe that leads from intercooler to intake sends the temp indication to 135.9 deg.
So if that's the case I guess there is no intake temp sensor..... or not raw intake air as such.
