    How hard would this be?

Anyone done it, or can point me in the right direction to get this sorted?

Im doing like 6-700 miles a week in my car along a lot of motorways and have been told that with cruise control I could get even better MPG outta the car. Im already getting 60mpg on average and wouldnt mind a quick way of improving on that - as I get my mileage back from work.

Is nothing easy on a VW????? I was fancying doing this, but after reading that I will give that a miss.

I suppose that is the difference with a quality built car, the cruise I fitted in my Vectra only took 10 mins to change the stalk over and a visit to my mate with the diagnostic computer to enable. That just looks complictaed!!!
Washing a car, is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. You've got to caress the bodywork. Breathe softly and gently. And give every inch of it your loving attention. And make sure you've got a nice wet sponge.

I just finished fitting my Cruise Control last weekend. Had a little help from some guys at a VW meet in Rochdale.

In thoery it is easy (isn't everything?).

There's some very fenickerty/fidgety/nimble bits and believe it or not, the easiest bit is taking the steering/airbag off and installing the stalk.

Can take upto 2 hours but it took me much longer.

    The tools you need are:
    10mm spanner
    13mm spanner
    Torx Bits T10 T15 T20 T25
    M12 Spline Drive

and VAG COM to enable. There are two additional online guides available which I will post the link for when I get home.

As for fuel efficiency. Not that much of a difference. Can decrease by upto 2mg. That's due to the car maintaining it's speed even on incline, when normally you might just take ease off the accelerator a little.

    Any questions... just ask?

    here we go
    http://homepage.ntlworld.com/dgace/cruise_control.htm
    and
    http://vwgolfr32.co.uk/ccs.pdf

Try ringing a few local VW dealers as some have offers on and will do it for £150 which is a decent price.

Some of them will quote you in excess of £200... and some will ust say that it can't be done to a VW Golf MKIV...

    that's some dealers for you.
