I am needing to change my current bluetooth set up in my 08 Touran - a Nokia CK-7W - due to the amount of echo I get on calls. I am thinking of getting the VW Touch system (or Bury 9060) and was wondering if it is compatible with the RCD300? Presumably it is a case of plug and play straight from the box. Anyone else got this?

You can get the proper vw 9w7 kit from carsystems for about £200 and will work with any phone. The touch system might be rsap only so watch out.

Sorry what is RSAP? The 9W 7 kit appears to be for the later units rather than mine. Presumably it will work though?

I've bought a VW Bluetooth Touch kit second hand to try to use with my RCD300, thought that would be "safer" than trying to change the stereo to one of the newer because of the reported battery drain issues. My work tried to fit the kit, and it wouldn't mute the radio for incoming calls or play any sound through the speakers. They swapped a wire around, and it put the stereo into permanent "Phone" mode, where you couldn't get any music from any source at all!

I'm not sure if it's a wiring issue or the stereo is not compatible, so I'd be interested to know if you managed to get anything working with the RCD300 - is it the black or silver buttoned one?

Does anybody have any alternatives that are definitely compatible with the black RCD300 stereo that will do handsfree and music streaming?

I'm beginning to think my eBay bargain wasn't such a bargain in the end. There's no cables connected to the Aux Out socked on the bluetooth box, so I'm not sure how it would get music to the stereo, if there was even an Aux In on my RCD300 (which there isn't).

I thought about giving up on it and trying a Parrot mki9200, but the Parrot website says there are no solutions for installing it in my car :-/

AUX IN is connected to the back of your unit. Nothing to do with you BT kit. They are 2 different things mate. But if you choose the correct BT kit you dont need AUX as you can stream the music with BT

How does the kit pipe the music through the car stereo then, if not using the stereo's aux pins? I thought it would be easy to get a VW Bluetooth kit working with a VW stereo, but apparently not!

i spoke to the local dealer and they told me that they're not selling the VW Bluetooth Touch Kit any more as they've had so many problems with it, and of the 5 they've sold in the past, all were returned because of issues. Looks like a new head unit instead for me!
