    Hi,

I've just fitted an RNS 510 to my '57 Golf Estate 2.0TDi Sportline.

I want to get the bluetooth module and fit it too, but there are various conflicting reports about 9W2 / 9W3 functionality and I'm dubious about 9W7 compatibility.

Has anyone fitted the bluetooth module successfully? Or are there other genuinely good alternatives to the OEM kit? (bearing in mind OEM 9W2 can be pciked up on eBay for under 60 quid!)

I'm on the verge of selling off the RNS-510 and buying an RNS-315 with the integral bluetooth.

Also - CANbus - think I'd need to update it? Seems to be funtionally ok just now.

    Cheers

9W7 will work fine with the 510. Means then you can stream music via bluetooth and you aren't tied to a RSAP compatible phone.

look on carsystems.pl , they do alot of retrofit kits and I can vouch for the quality/service.

I would however get somebody with VCDS to code the headunit to tell it the bluetooth is now fitted to avail of all functionality.

    Welcome to VWAF.

Bit of a bump, but I need to get a new car as my poor old Polo has the dreaded sticky valves and it's not worth fixing. Probably going to get a Mk.5, probably a ~05 SE. They don't have any kind of trip computer as standard, and I don't think I can stretch to a ~07 Match spec, which have the MFSW and Highline computer. I want Bluetooth, and I believe it's reasonably easy to fit a more recent (ie, Mk.6) radios like the RCD 510, which can control the Bluetooth units. I presume that a 9w7 is the unit I'd want? Bluetooth audio streaming in particular is something I'd like. It would be nice to add a Highline cluster, but I think that's a bit expensive and hard work with all the coding etc, which I'm a bit concerned about.
If I were to be able to pick up a Match spec car, would a 9w7 be the unit to go for too?
    2002 Polo 9n 1.2 65PS. Basic but it's better than the train!
