    Hi
First post in a while and first regarding a passat.
drivers window has the classic clicking, grinding noise and glass sticking halfway up. Suspect its the clips or cable. I'm looking at regulator kits on ebay, the ones that have the two rails, winder, cables and sliders for around twenty quid. Any one got any experience of fit and quality ? I did a pals b5 driver door a few years ago but we used the complete panel replacement kit from tps which cost over a hundred. Bit reluctant to shell out for the full thing so looking at these ebay kits instead. Any thoughts?
    Cheers, Rob

Spend the extra on the genuine part and get a 2 year guarantee should it fail. Genuine from TPS is the way forward and least hassle.

Got one of mine changed a few months ago. The whole window regulator cost £90 from local VW dealers, and is guranteed.

I won't repeat my whining - search the forum for Okzam

Buy genuine and you won't be sitting out in the cold trying to repair the repair in two months time

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.

Thanks for feedback guys, okzam points taken on board!!! Now go and p##s yourself when I tell you I bought one off him at lunchtime today! Also got price from tps, just over 100 all in. Not doing the job till next week, so that'll teach me to be more patient and less mouse happy.
Will likely go for tps and try to return to oksam, see what happens then. You live n learn.
    Cheers

Don't beat yourself up about it just yet.

I may have been unlucky, sadly I'll never find out because he failed to honour any sort of warranty on the substandard product.

Fit it and forget about it, get back to worrying about bigger things

Cheers!!, laughing about it today with the guys at work. Will make a call on what to fit when the bits arrive and what they look like, and I get into the door to see the damage.

The cable kit is fine, as stated lots of waterproof grease needs to be applied (did my os/f window a few years ago, still fine.
