    Hi.
Does anyone know the size of the Brake Disc Retaining Hex Screw on a B8 3.0 TDI?

My cousin has just fitted new discs to my car and said I could do with replacing the screw.
I was wanting to order one online today but not sure what size it is.

    Any help would be great.

    Chris

For things like this, I usually approach the dealer - if you've used them regularly they'll normally throw a screw or two in for free.

Alas, not any more but it was smith knight fay Gee Cross. I couldn't decide if he was being genuinely nice or felt pity for me given the frequency of my visits when I had the polo

Edit - I should make it clear, I only actually got one freebie and that was when I was rebuilding my steering column after some fruit loop tried to steal it - they didn't bank on the noisy starter though (changed soon after)

Don't bother replacing the screw. It's a lot of fun changing an 18" wheel on a dark rainy night with a pen light in your mouth that has a poor battery whilst trying to align the bolt holes with the holes in the disc

Which is why possess two lengths of bar with threaded ends to act as dummy bolts for realinging wheels when replacing them. Ebay was my friend.

Is the plastic peg used to line the holes up not with the spare wheel kit anymore?
