ESP fault and A3 not starting

]Hi Guys,

I wonder if anybody could suggest what could be wrong with my Audi. I have an Audi A3 1.9TDI Sportback 2007. It is usually very reliable to start, that is until today.

I went to start the car, waiting for the coil light to disappear on the dash before turning the ignition key, then nothing apart from a Click, click, click, click sound. The engine didn't even fire up. I was left with an ESP Fault, consult your manual on the dash. I did this and it didn't have any suggestions as to what it could be.

Could anybody help and advise what they think might be the problem?

Is the battery fully charged?

The car started a couple of days ago, not sure how to check if the battery is fully charged, maybe I should try and jump start it? I tend to use it for fairly short journeys so maybe the battery is finally flat?

Charge the battery off the car then get it checked.
If its the original battery I would change it.
