I didn't realise the Avant had different steering from the saloon. Its gone from being vague and light to beautifully weighted!

It says the ride can be adjusted using Drive Select. Unless the test car had the optional air suspension this is not true. If it did have air suspension fitted the reviewer should point out that it's not standard.

Beautifully weighted steering, would that be in economy, comfort, auto, dynamic? Presumably it can't be beautifully weighted in all settings.

I don't think you can set much store by such a review no matter whether it praises or criticise the car when it is obviously flawed.

That said, when I was test driving cars had an Audi salesman try to convince me that the Drive Select would alter the ride in a conventionally sprung car. He kept altering the setting and inviting me to comment on the non existent change in ride quality.

Also, can't see 5 lts of extra boot space influencing anyone's buying decision!

You rather suspect that test reports like these are written following reading the manufacturers launch bumf rather than actually spending any time behind the wheel. That's not to say the Ultra isn't a good car to drive, etc.

    Agree.

Picked up on the steering as while I really like my car, if asked, I would nominate the steering as my least favourite feature. It's not the weight it's the almost total lack of 'feel', there is virtually no feedback at all.
