Just got a Promiotion at work and in August this year i will be getting a little Bonus (Nothing major but enough to chop in my 1.8T and get an S4)

I've always wanted a Red S4 Avant but want opinions.

    What shall i Go for??

    Saloon or Avant??

B6 or B7 (B7 would mean having to finance some of it, so although i can afford to finance it i would rather pay the car outright)

Manual or Automatic (Prefer Manual as it's more sporty, but Auto in a big 4.2 Would be really comfy to drive)

I know its 6 Months away but time does go Quick and i want to get the right car so best start doing my research now.

What are the best options to go with on an S4?
    1.8Turbo. Stage 1 Tuned 215bhp
l Powerflow Cat Back Exhaust l Carbonio Cold Air Intake l Forge 007P Diverter l Stage 1 Remap l Stage 2 Carbon Kevlar Clutch l 40mm Apex Lowering Springs l HZ Altezza Front skirt l HZ Altezza side skirts l HZ Altezza spoiler l Votex Rear Bumper l 19" RS6 Alloys l 312mm Brake Upgrade l 2007 S-Line Interior l

    Congrats on the promotion.
If / when my current car goes bang I will be getting an S4 Avant but when I do it will be a long term car and I'll wait for the right one rather than compromise. I looked at saloons a while back because they are less money, but then I know that I'll kick myself every time I see an Avant.
The B7's are a lot more money for not much more car in my opinion, they do look a little more modern though don't they. If you get an auto maybe look for one with the paddles.

    Cheers,

This will be a Long termer too. I love my B6 as i don't think it is too dated yet but with the B7 i like the front end and the Quad pipes on the S4, but is it worth the extra £2k-£3k for the right one?
I'm going to do my research and then in August i will take the Plunge.

I think i want a Red B6 Avant, Manual with 19" RS6 alloys in Anthracite (need to see google for images before i commit to the wheel colour) with Sat Nav, Sun Roof, Carbon inlays and Half Leather/Alcantra Recaro interior. (not sure if this is only a B7 option)

What Options are the best ones to look for on an S4?

Are there Options that are bettter suited to the Saloon and ones to the Avant?

I've seen some that don't have the Carbon inlays, i want these but its not a deal breaker.
