My ignition will not shut off, I have changed the ignition switch and the problem remains so I have taken the connector off the ignition switch and the ignition is still live. There is no ignition relay unlike the B6 model, I stop the engine by stalling the car with the key in the off position and then disconnect the battery to kill the ignition and reconnect the battery with key in to start the car, if I stall the car it will not start again until the ignition is killed by disconnecting the battery. I assume the ignition circuit is being supplied from another circuit so I will take fuses out tomorrow to see if any will kill ignition. Any help appreciated.

Hi Zollaf, as far as I know all work but I will check in the morning and let you know. have the rear lights been known to mess up the ignition circuit? Thank you for taking the time to reply.

if a brake light bulb has a dodgy filament, or is not in correctly, it can upset things and cause backfeeding of electrons to places they are not wanted. a situation like this, i would always check all the lights first, just in case. after that it gets more complicated and expensive, so best rule out the easy cheap things first.

Hi all lights work as they should, I found the ignition went off when no7(one on top of 5 amp fuse) 10amp fuse removed and I could start and stop car normally and key fob locking works again. only thing is climate control screen still has power. everything still seams to work including brake lights with this fuse removed(drivers airbag is still off the car at the moment). I will have a look round rear brake lights see if I can find anything. cheers

Hi it was no5 fuse ignition went off with not 7, have found the problem was with the relay plate 30amp terminals one was burnt and had melted the plastic. I think this was caused by relay 370 (load reduction relay) replaced relay plate and relay with used parts and all so far ok.
