If they are ATE caliper then remember that the inner pads are side.
"The inner pad (with spring) has an arrow. The arrow must point in direction of brake disc rotation when moving forwards. May create noises if incorrectly installed."
If they are FN3 ATE calipers then the guide pins are 25nm.

I'll have a look and see if there's an arrow one side done so if there is I hope it's in the right direction is there a pic of the ATE type anywhere

Bugger there is an arrow I'll put the one not done on so arrow points in the direction of rotation and see what happens

Only if it is the correct pad for that side. The arrow should point in the direction of rotation of the disc when moving foward. If it won't match up then you will deed to fit that pad on the other side. Regards Peter

Thanks for the help guys the pads seem to have been put in the right way

One lesson learned is that the sensor wire breaks and when it does the wear warning kicks in. Although the pads and a fare bit of life left in them couple thousand miles maybe. I'd already bought the pads and discs so i fitted them anyway. Also the warning light was doing my head in

Another lesson learned is the importance of using a torque wrench. I've no doubt I'd have under tightened the carrier bolts and over tightened the caliper bolts.
