    Hi,

I've got the shareware version of VCDS as per the RossTech site and I've borrow an OBD-II lead. I have my wife's VW Golf '07 2.0Tdi with the engine management lights on and the words "emissions - garage" which comes up on the DIS when I start it.

I've tried to use the VCDS software as per instructions, but no joy. It finds the Port 3 interface but when I save this and run an autoscan I get nothing back, it just do an awful lot of searching.

Can someone help me out by telling me what I'm doing wrong here, or if fundamentally I'm taking the wrong approach. If someone could confirm the chassis type I should be using it might be a good start as I'm not even certain that I've got that right!!

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Regards,

    Chris

MK5 Golf is CAN which Lite doesn't support so this is the problem, you can however order a Micro-Can cable from Rosstech which will work fine with the MK5
