Car won't start. No compression on motor.

Hi there.

Wondered if any of you had some suggestions regarding my problem. The thing is as follows:

Had my 1.8 tfsi since new, five years and one month to be exact, and one month over warranty as we have five years here in Norway. 59000km on the counter and served at intervals. The car have been working flawlessly all the time, with just minor bugs taken care of under warranty.
The other week i came driving home, parked the car, went in for a shower (30min) and then off to work. The car would NOT start. Cranking over just fine, a little to fine it seems. Searched my self for the obvious. Couldn't hear the puel pump prime, so wen't for it. Got it working again, but could only measure 6V in the power supply for the pump? Well, it primes and spins, but no start. Charged the battery on the car. Get 12.3 when fully charged, so maybe time to change. Try to jump start with no success.
Ended up towing the car to a local Volkswagen mechanic as there is 100km to the nearest Audi dealer. After 10 minutes he could tell me the problem. That flop flop sound from the exhaust should ring a bell, but it didn't. Well it seems there is no compression on the motor... The VW mechanic told me it would be better to move the car to the Audi dealer for further repair.
Have VCDS and could fetch som fault codes dating to the time the car died on me. Mostly electrical due to low voltage on the battery i think.
Afraid this could empty my savings account. Any ideas for a simple solution to all this?

If you have no compression on any cylinders then the timing belt has broken/slipped

The timing belt is there. Not checked the alignment. The mechanic was talking about a valve sensor or valves stuck in open. Is that possible?
If it IS a a faulte timing belt that have caused valvedamage, should i expect Audi to contribute to the repair in spite of not in warranty as the car has only driven 37k miles?

Well, my bad then. I believed the one camshaft was belt driven, and the cams was chain connected. Does this rule out the bad CHAIN bit then? What could cause the valves to not open/close at the right time then?

The old 1.8T had a belt and a small chain on the cams. You need to post the engine code, it's on a sticker in the wheelwell and maybe on the engine
