I have got Audi Multimedia unit in the glovebox. Can someone point towards correct removal keys please?

Is it safe to disconnect it (I don't want it to go into Component protection mode).

And the last question is where to get metal clips to hold fuse cover in place?

I hate going to local Audi, they are bunch or morons...

    thank you.

I got a few errors in ecu due to disconnecting the fibre optic, but it doesnt bring any lights, on just logs them. Some will clear on there own after a number of error free ecu checks or you can clear using VCDS

They wont happen unless you turn the ignition on, keep ignition off and you'll be fault free

Crazy - you'll find it far easier dropping the glovebox as you're gonna have to run the mic wire down anyway, 5 8mm bolts and disconnect the door motor, light and footwell light (if fitted) from one plug and of course the bits out of the mm unit.

When I put my AMI in, I had to take the glove box out. But I tried taking the Multimedia unit out first with the keys and the wiring behind it is very tight. There is very little extra cable so it might just be easier to remove the 5 bolts to lower the glove box down.

    Ok, last question:

Does Audi use generic plug at the beck of mmi unit for the microphone or it needs to be Audi special ???
