I have a 2008 S-line Avant which has been great since new (other than the warranty gearbox change). However the flap for the headlamp washer broke last year and the 'bodge up' glue job only lasted several months. Audis design fault of attaching the flap to the front bumper!!

A local independent tried to turn off the washer with no success and a bodyshop who were working on the car said they could not reattach the broken fitting to the bumper. Spoke to an Audi Main Dealer who told me to remove the fuse..... Which one!!

Anyone have any ideas of the correct fuse no as is not in the manual. Other ideas? My poor car is currently driving around with the flap off.

Take off the end dash panels and you should have at least one fusebox, maybe one on either side.

There is a fuse diagram printed on the back of the panel you popped off.

I also believe you can disable the option in the Cent. Elec module in VCDS - module 09.

I wouldn't advise this tho as you have xenons and washers are needed as a legal requirement to stop the beam dazzling drivers when the lens is dirty.

Normal Xenon. Do not have Vag.com can I get an Audi Specialist to do it? Local one failed! Cannot find a fuse specific for the headlamp washers.

Did you look either end of your dashboard like in post #2? Can I ask why you're disabling them??

Chris, I asume the OP wishes to glue the flap on so that he has no hole in his bumper, and so needs to disable the washers so that they do not cause damage when coming up against his "permanently" closed flap!

Rules about HIDs in NI are different to Eng/Sco/Wales, if the mot tester even get a sniff that any sort of HID is fitted then it needs washers and levellers and if they're not there, you'll get an immediate fail. Our MOT is a helluva lot tougher than yours too.

In Eng/Sco/Wales HIDs can be fitted and passed without washers and levellers but if washers and levellers are fitted they have to be fully functional from reading different bits online.
