Audi A4 Roof Flashing Light

Hi

im sure this has been posted before but i cant seem to find a thread related to my problem (there are similar)

My roof warning light is flashing when i first turn the ignition on, the roof itself opens and closes fine using the electric button, i've tried opening and closing manually but no luck

any ideas?

also do i need to do the manual open and close using the key with the ignition on? i did it with it off and just curious to make sure im doing it right

The flashing roof sign might be the big thing (sorry can't think of the exact word!) in the boot which you have to flick left->right or right->left, I think it's some kind of lock?

If its working fine I wouldn't be worrying and again with the manual release, if its working fine without the key in the ignition then wouldn't worry.

yeah i know what you mean! will have to look up see which way its supposed to be

it only came on after the garage had fitted a new bit of windscreen trim, the black part of mine flew off when doing 70...ish on a motorway... so im going to take it back to them and try and get them to sort it or atleast put it on a scanner for free

just read up what that handle is for, its just for the shelf in the boot to be either lifted or lowered to give you more boot space, so cant be that, trip to the garage it is to sort since its only came on after theyve had it!

Ah I thought it locked something in place

Yep get them to sort it, a fault code scan will show any fault.
