Have had my engine light on for the past 3yrs on my 06 2ltr tdi, every thing running fine except for occasional Limp Mode(over boost ). I am now ready to part exchange car but don't think it will go down very well with light on I have scanned it and the problem seems to be throttle actuator control module performance, can anyone enlighten me ie is it a DIY job to replace,or is it possible just a setting or even just a cleaning job,if none of these about how many pound notes is a garage going to charge. Thank you in advance

What did you scan with? What code did it throw? Clear the code and do about 10 normal starts and stops. You don't have a throttle on a diesel

Cleared code(p2108) using Autel maxi scan, this code did not appear in manual that came with scan tool, searched the web and found code, I know this is a generic code and could be a problem, however did what you said first time I started light went off but second time stayed on. I know I said everything running ok but what made me think reading was correct some times with foot off pedal car will carry on without stalling

I'd be tempted just to PX it with the light on, or plug in a code reader and clear the error so the light goes out until the problem next occurs. Not worth throwing money at it if you're only getting trade value for the car, dealer will probably just be sending it to auction.
