    Hi there,

This is my first post as a newbie so please be gentle...........

I've recently bought a 52' Reg S6 Quattro saloon and tried installing my M6 Toll Tag in the window positioned as suggested in the tag fitting instructions..... However it doesn't appear to work no matter where I put it (had several goes at various locations....). I had read about metalised screens causing problems with tags so I decided to investigate further.

I have ascertained that it's not the tag as I held it out of the window apporaching the toll booths and it worked as advertised. I then rang Audi customer services who informed me that there should be a 'clear square section to mount tags, on the windscreen behind the rear view mirror'. They also assured me that if there was no clear section, which would be visible to me upon inspection, then the screen isn't metalised and that the tag is faulty......

Well I know the tag isn't faulty, it works outside the car.... and I can't for the life of me see any clear square sections on the screen? Anyone have any ideas or experience of where to mount a tag so it works...? Or maybe I do have a metalised screen....?

    Thanks very much.

Assuming you have rain sensing wipers there should be a dotted area of the windscreen behind the rearview mirror. - The tag should go somewhere up there.

Similar to this image (not mine, found via an image search)

    Hi there Sam,
Unfortunately I don’t have the automatic wipers nor does the screen have the area around the rear view mirror shaded out. It’s just a standard looking screen with the tinting across the top part.

Try putting it at the tinted section as a colleague of mine has their eflow tag in the tinted section of her a6 and it works fine.

Don't you find that M6 toll winding you up it does me as the government sell the land and get kick back and get a private firm to build the road and charge people for people that pay road tax anyway. I use that a lot and have a few times with my van & trailer which I think if I remember right was £15. Total con. they should sort out Birmingham and stop the traffic jams there
