Did they rolling road/dyno before and after or are you using SoTP dyno?

If they did post up the graphs man!!

According to this link your looking at 44/28 BHP/lbft, so you'll be running at 277/258 so a 16%/11% hike in power/torque

Tree, I've had mine mapped using Alientech and have achieved 950 miles from one tank, which is pretty impressive.

Since then have had a terraclean, new oil/tranny/air filters, and am having glow plugs and fuel filter done tomorrow....so hoping to improve on that when doing 1000+ over a few days at the months end.

My trip/brimmed fuel variance is circa 3% and on a 180 mile drive back from Manchester a few weeks back DIS read 57.6, which would be over 55MPG in real terms

    Hi Guys,
So on day one I was advised to drive "briskly" for the first 30miles until the ECU set it's self, don't ask me the tech side of this but I did as asked and returned a massively impressive 8mpg after 30miles in S mode on a mixture of roads! I've since returned to normal driving and the car is much the same as pre-map.

Today I had an eco!!! trip to Edinburgh and back to Perth to collect my sister and newly born niece so the return journey was smooth, it's the first opportunity on a semi-decent journey I've had since the install and after a couple of heavy footed moments for overtaking I averaged 40.3 which is the best I've had since owning the car.

I've never come close to the figures I've seen on some forums (50+mpg!!!!) and doubt I ever will, thankfully at this stage that's not my goal!
The remap is awesome, torque is much improved throughout the range but especially when on the paddles through 3-5, my best description so far is liken D mode to S mode of old and S mode now as stupidly quick for a big car!
Getting out of junctions the car feels more responsive and I've seen some marginal gains on mpg on single trips across town whilst I've been checking for it. I'm still only a week in, heavily right footed and have plenty more opportunities coming up over the coming weeks/months to enjoy the car. Off to Spa in Aug for the F1 so that'll be a big trip where I'll be able to gauge a proper long run.

I didn't get the car dyno'd. I had planned to during my initial research of Scottish installers but after a visit to my local Indy for another repair and a chat he put me in touch with a guy pretty much on my doorstep who is an authorised Revo installer. He was extremely helpful and patient as I asked many questions over a month or so whilst doing my research.
Whether Revo is the best or not is obviously debatable but I can say that I'm extremely happy with the service, outcome and after sales service that I've been offered should I have any problems. Ultimately I chose them because of their warranty, moneyback, location to me and that their VAG specialists that came recommended by various people and forums.
I believe it's producing in the region of 277bhp and 360lb.ft according to their figures. Up from 233bhp/322lb.ft
My current advice to anyone that is thinking of doing a remap is to go for it, it really makes the driving experience more enjoyable!
Will update again after a few more miles are clocked. If there is anyone ever in the Perth area that would like to have a run in the car to see if it's for them or not please get in touch.

Here's a couple e-mails I received whilst going through my investigations. May be of help to those going through the same process, please don't quote me on these

"Thank you for your email. In order to be able to determine what options might be available for your car could you perhaps confirm the age and current power output of your car? There are issues with post 2010 vehicles that mean a different method of upgrading is required to earlier vehicles. There are currently 2 variants of the 3.0L Tdi engines fitted in Audi A6 chassis, One is a 233bhp engine, the other a 236bhp variant. Each uses a different ECU but fundamentally the procedure would be the same.
The 233bhp variant has the potential to be upgraded to 277bhp with torque up from the standard 332lb.ft. to a more impressive 360lb.ft.
The 236bhp variant has the potential to be upgraded to 284bhp with again a torque rise from the standard 406lb.ft to an upgraded 459lb.ft
As part of the upgrade process we perform a full diagnostic session on your car which will identify any faults which have occurred in the cars systems since the last service and we will advise you of these and what steps need to be taken to remedy these. The upgrade process itself involves what is known as serial port programming and is performed through the manufacturers on board diagnostics port fitted to the vehicle and takes approximately 40-50 minutes to complete,
In terms of pricing, we do not charge any extra for offering a mobile service and the cost will simply be the Revo Technik national price for your particular vehicle. In your case, the price for your car would be dependent upon the engine variant fitted to your car. The lower powered 233bhp engine upgrade pricing is £349+VAT ( £418.80) fully installed whereas the 236bhp engine variant is £399+VAT (£478.80). These prices would be the same price throughout the Revo Technik dealer network. Revo Technik are currently running a promotion which would give one lucky Customer in the UK the chance to “win back” the cost of their upgrade. I attach a copy of the relevant flyer for your information."
    "Good evening Euan,
Thank you for your email. Don’t worry about asking questions – The more the better as far as we are concerned. I am familiar with Crighton, an excellent VAG mechanic and a very good choice for you as an independent specialist. Don’t worry about not being able to identify your engine, a simple scan would identify the engine, ecu and current output of the car.
I can fully understand the queries, and indeed the logic in respect of rolling roads, however if you consider what Revo Technik offer, you may begin to see the reasoning that rolling roads are, to a certain extent redundant for Revo Technik upgrades. Whereas the majority of tuning houses offer upgrades for particular engines, by adjusting the coding that is downloaded from your vehicle, Revo Technik have developed their software in conjunction not only with specific engines, but also with the individual ECU’s that may be fitted. Data is then collected from your car in real world driving conditions and any further adjustments can be made to suit. On diesel engines, the scope for adjustment, whether using a rolling road is limited. The software for diesel engines works in a different way than for the petrol engine variants.
For your car as an example there are quite literally dozens of ECU variants fitted, each with its own tailored Revo Technik code. Each code is extensively tested (including rolling road) prior to release. The software is then set up from data collected from your specific vehicle to ensure it performs as it should. This makes the normal “dialling in” that would take place on a rolling road redundant. It is also worth bearing in mind that successive Rolling Road “runs” can be compromised by heat soak which, despite massive fans, can’t be fully ruled out.
Some customers undoubtedly prefer rolling roads for peace of mind and, if that is your preference all I would suggest is you make sure you choose a facility with a 4 wheel drive rolling road – 2 wheel drive rolling roads cannot adequately support your vehicle and common workarounds can often distort the figures. I personally have seen a rolling road print out that showed a VW Golf 2.0 Tdi 140 which we had upgraded with Revo Technik software from 140bhp to 185bhp was putting out 204bhp at the wheels. The customer was, as you would expect, delighted even though he was sceptical of the claims. The car remains incapable of putting out that level of power, the simple fact is the turbo charger fitted to that vehicle simply cannot support the power levels claimed. Our own, in car diagnostics revealed a power output of 186.4bhp, exactly where it was expected to be. On another occasion, a customer of ours had his standard Audi TT 225bhp put on a rolling road and was disappointed with a printout in the low 140’s. Our diagostics revealed a power output of 222.7bhp before an upgrade was applied so whilst rolling roads can prove useful, do take their outputs with a pinch of salt. Before and after readings should be able to give a useful comparison but the figures could themselves be slightly out of line with expectations.
In terms of pricing, performance upgrades can be available from a matter of a few pounds to several hundreds, a quick search of ebay would usually unveil a number of upgrades, the cheapest of which could be only £30-£40 or so right the way through to the premier brands from well-known and well respected companies. The price for Revo Technik software is set nationally and is the same at any authorised dealer irrespective of location. There are, relatively regular offers that run typically around the end of the year and usually mid spring, but other than that the price would be the same anywhere in the country. There are of course cheaper alternatives, We ourselves offer performance upgrades for your vehicle from Viezu Technologies, another nationally recognised Company that have won several awards for their software and again offer a “no quibble” guarantee which can be significantly cheaper alternatives but as yet I have not seen a competitor be able to compete with Revo Technik’s real world driving characteristics and that is in spite of some impressive claims.. Their prices are less than that of Revo Technik, but I had understood your enquiry was for Revo Technik rather than a proprietary brand and, when it comes to VAG group vehicles, there are only really 2 names that stand out as being the premier brands – Revo Technik, which of course we offer, and APR, offered primarily by Awesome GTi in Manchester (and a few other dealers). It is well worth you doing as much research as you can prior to deciding what option is the best for you. In terms of the alternatives you mention, I understand Star Performance could offer you upgrades by either Giac or, their own proprietary upgrade. Star Performance have their own staunch supporters who swear by them so they must be doing something right.
Turning to warranty, Revo Technik’s warranty can be found here:- http://products.revotechnik.com/products/warranty.aspx and Viezu Technologies warranty is available here:- http://www.viezu.com/faq Both companies offer a no quibble money back guarantee if you are not entirely satisfied with the upgrade, Viezu for 7 days, Revo Technik for 28 days. It is well worth, wherever you choose ensuring that you have the option to return the car to stock and getting a refund if the upgrade turns out not for you.
From our perspective we would rather provide you with all the information you need to make an informed choice as to which upgrade is the right one for you – Even if that is not Revo Technik. We would rather you got the upgrade that suited your needs than one which did not and left you somewhat disappointed so do please feel free to ask as many questions as you need to answer all your concerns in advance of making your decision. That way you will be more likely to get the product that actually suits your needs."

Was down to Wembley last Wednesday for the England Scotland game, good game and great laugh the boys.

Was near enough 900 miles by the time I returned. All 4 of us are over 6', we were very comfortable and it was the first long trip I've done with more than two in the car. We had the usual M6 fun with Mr 530i and his BMW chums, I'm still to find one that knows what the middle lane is!

So luggage and all we were pretty heavy but even sitting at a steady 80mph+ for a majority of the trip we came out with 41.3mpg.

This for me, was great! the mid range torque never gets boring and we made great time using one and half tanks for the trip.

I reckon I'd be able to push that up a fair amount if I wasn't so heavy footed. I'm no worse off, if anything improved by a mpg or two, from my pre-mapped days and I have bags more fun, the reason I invested in the Revo map in the first place.

1500m trip to Spa-Francorchamps on Wednesday next week for the F1, somehow I don't think I'll be seeing much better than 41.3!

I still highly recommend this upgrade.

That's great info and feedback, thanks. I am going to book the car in for next week, I haven't decided who to use yet, I have to choose between Angel and Revo at this stage I reckon.
