Has any one come across a problem with Speed Warnings just after ignition and start up. The warning symbol is illuminated and lasts about seconds or say about 20 metres driving time. The symbol has a speed signature of '2' presumably the speed at which I was speeding !! It has only just happened after I reset the trip computer to the default settings on the MMI. 2008 A6 2.0tdi mTronic.

Go back into your MMI and press CAR, then look for Instrument Cluster and switch the speed warning off.

    Take for a 30 minute drive in 4th @ 60mph if possible.

Coil light shouldn't be on so a scan is definitely needed.

I know when my DPF light came on and it didn't go out after doing the above drive, the coil light flashed and then the engine light came on. Turned out it was a DPF pressure sensor, common fault on DPF equipped models.

What sort of journeys are you doing? If short, consider getting rid of the DPF and getting a remap to suit.

Dave, shame you'd not posted earlier as was in Bristol this morning at Cabots and have VCDS, now back in Burnham on Sea and am aware that there are a few others now closer to you with it.

Good luck but give me a shout if you need a scan...is only a 30 min drive for you max.

Chris .... I think a 30 minute drive at 60mph is in order. I am up to London next week anyway. Mark, thanks very much for the offer if it persists I will definitely need it checking (Ps I live in Clevedon) and will arrange a tie up when convenient with you. ?? As an aside the vehicle has a really good ASH (1st 70k) and then fully serviced with a specialist, last service and timing belt change 4k and next service due 13.5k so disappointed with intermittent/ sensitive EMS faults !

Dave absolutely no problem and a mere 20 mins then!

Strange mine was supplied with absolutely ziltch service history, but no problems whatsoever and initial scan only revealed headlights out of alignment...but it passed it's MOT in May

Annoyingly my pristine car was scratched in a carpark in Bridgwater yesterday and some scrote scratched the rear with their car/van and didn't leave a note.....grrrr
