Who's bought a high mileage A6 ?

So who's bought a high mileage A6 and running it? only 100k owners post please

...

Could guys give info on engine size? type of gearbox? what mileage bought at? and when? what current mileage? how long they're thinking of running it? what are their thoughts on it? do they ever feel they made wrong decision?

Why I'm asking I've always tried to by as low mileage a car as I can for the set budget at time of buying, now I'm thinking perhaps my next one should be the opposite ... ie go for the highest mileage with a newish year with some fat deprecation in it vs a new car ... also the newer it is with say 100k miles ish it will be all m-way driving ...

My 3.0 Allroad had 117,000 on when I got it...currently at 132,000

Hi ya mate ... you got yours roughly June 12 , its 2006/56 IIRC ... besides the air suspension issue what's it been like to own? any niggly faults? what's your general ownership perception of car?

Bought my S-Line 2.0 tdie avant 2009 at 98k two years ago and it's now done 130k. So far no issues except the leaking rear washer pipe ruining the mmi unit.

2005 3.0 Tdi Quattro, bought at 38,000 but now done 158,000. Only issue/work required other than servicing work has been an injector change due to the nozzle wear and fuel leakage problem.

I am beginning to debate whether to replace it but purely due to hankering after something else rather than any concern about it.

No problems apart from the suspension compressor, which is fine now that it has been changed. IMHO, a perfect all-round car. Why people buy Q7's I don't know. I think I need to update the MMI, that will be done soon. The rear wash wipe failed earlier this year, mainly due to some buildup of corrosion causing leakage into the motor. I once had an Audi 100CS Sport that I bought at 3 years old with 108,000 on the clock, did nearly 70k in that before selling on..

had mine for 12 months now 2008 2.0tdi audi a6 sline avant. bought from auction with 130k on clock for 7k , now has 137k. all the toys full leather,bluetooth ,19" rims michellin sport tyres all round. full service history with all paperwork of all services, just had a new clutch prior to me buying it. looks the part. i aint ever parting with this until its ready for the scrappers..... love it.

If you have 4 kids it's impossible to fit them into an A6. I have three at the moment but eventually a fourth will come....the Q7 is one of the cars I'll be looking at.( although I reckon running costs will put it out of contention and I'll get an Alhambra instead

Bought mine on 113K Oct 2012 on 128K now 2.0TDI manual.

I have an aircon issue some of you know about, and weird noise from engine / gearbox / clutch not sure which TBH??? which doesn't seem to be affecting the car at all although I'd like to know what it is. The oil chain balance shaft thingy issues worries me a little although my engine isn't BRE.

Overall I'm pleased with it would like to add some mods but ££ dictates otherwise. I'd like a few more toys and more power but then I'd have had to pay more in the first place higher spec than SE and bigger engine. I'll have to keep it until it develops a terminal illness but I'd have another A6 obv newer more toys and bigger engine in the words of Top gear I want

I have 2 of my own and regularly carry 2 of their friends as well, so 4 children without issue....but then I don't have a wife...so think that might be your problem!
