Does anyone know how to eject a cd that's stuck in the standard single CD player? Preferably without having to remove the unit?

    Not already?!

Try holding in the Eject button, it's worked for me in the past.

Failing that, disconnect the battery and while you're reconnecting it, get someone to hit the eject button.

It wasn't me, is was the thieving bast**ds that stole the car. We've got it back (minus everything in the car, including the handbook and service record, etc!!) but they put in a CD (a burnt one) and I'm guessing they couldn't get it out, nor the police. It could be a useful piece of evidence.

Will it need resetting if we disconnect the battery (or remove the fuse)?

No Idea about the CD I'm afraid, but how's the rest of the car after its time with the TBs?

Ah its back?! Any damage to the car, bar the CD?

Nothing will need resetting, you'll get a ESP warning on the dash but that will clear after doing a full lock to lock on the steering and a short drive forward will clear it.

You can also simulate a eject via VCDS.

What about your other car? Was it recovered?

    Thanks.

The car is fine, no damage or scratches, etc. Just missing the handbook and service book (about £70 to replace or so I'm lead to believe) + some expensive sunglasses + an SD Card with some (even though I do say so myself) excellent music on (but they didn't take the Sat nav card) and the horse passports!
It looks like they did about 100 to 150 miles in it in the time they had it.

The chap at the compound said they'd had quite a few cars in recently that had been stolen in South Manchester and he thinks they are being stolen to get broken up and the parts exported to europe for resale. Ours had had a registration from a 12 plate Grey A6 2lt TDi S-line on so whether that was the intention for ours I don't know. They also found it with a BMW and a transit van.

Therefore if I can get the CD ejected it might help in the investigation.

We collected the car and took it straight to Blackburn Audi and to their immense credit, they re-coded the car & keys and made and fitted new number plates and washed the car for FREE!! They said we'd been through enough stress already so they'd be no charge. Now that's customer service - so a big thanks to them.

The Skoda has also been recovered, but we didn't have the second key, so it will need new locks, etc. and for some utterly bizzare reason, Skoda says it could take a week to get them in! Because it's a security item. As a consequence, I've had to put that through the insurance company as I couldn't take the risk of bringing the car home and having it nicked again. Also, if they've nicked the handbook, etc. they'll cover the cost of a replacement.

    Happy days - NOT!

A quick question (as we don't have the manual), but where is the fuesbox located and which number fuse is the one for the CD player?

Assuming that the Allroad is basically the same as a standard Avant, then I cannot see a specific fuse just for the dash mounted CD player on its own but you could try either Fuse 4 (counting from the left) in the upper fuse carrier (black in colour) in the end of the dash on the passenger side of the car, this should be a 7.5A fuse and is referred to as Infotainment (Centre Console). The one to the left of that (5A) is referred to as CD/DVD Changer but I am assuming this for the jukebox unit. Also in the right hand fuse carrier (brown in colour and below the relays) in the boot behind the trim on the RH side you could try Fuse 1 (Counting from the Right!)which will be either a 20A or 30A and is referred to as Receiver for radio, sound amplifier/infotainment (centre console front)

    Hope this helps
