I have experience of both in the C7 and I reckon the standard set-up is much better than the Bose. What do you think?

I would be surprised as Bose are famed for the quality of their speakers, but whether you can tell when they are stuck in a car door, well, anybodies guess. be interesting to hear some first hand experiences on this as it was one of the things I was looking at.

No offence but I'd be pretty gutted if you were right. I forked out £1000 for BOSE and it's excellent, loving every minute of it. I'm a massive music fan, sounds on the move are very important to me. The system in my new motor are the best mobile sounds I have ever heard. By a country mile.

x2 on that Owl, best ice sound I've had in a car. Very clear & stays clear right up to ear splitting volume levels.

In that case it was obviously money well spent.

Had an A8 last year with Bose and was very disapointed. Good clarity but virtually no bass. The sandard set-up in my C7 is very good. The seperate sub control enables you to fine-tune the bass just to your liking.

I do like my music loud. (unless I am in dynamic mode when I like to listen to the engine!).... The BOSE set up is the only in car ICE where I am half to two-thirds up the volume range (ie, loads of scope to go further) and at times I leave the car feeling like I have just left a loud nightclub (or so I recall, those days being long gone). Also, depending on the quality of the original source of course, some songs literally make my rips vibrate. And that's with the extra padding they are under! Ac/DC live at River Plate could make your ears bleed in my motor. And Roger Daltry's primal scream at the end of Won't get fooled again gets picked up at Jodrell Bank at any volume above 15. My last vehicle was an HSE Disco, with 'high end' Harmon Cardon ICE. It was pathetic compared to this.

The Bose systems will sound like rubbish from new. As with all high end audio systems the Bose will need to be broken in. Once that has happened prepare yourself for some ear love.
Also bare in mind that the Bose will actually sound worse with low quality audio files than the standard system.

I agree 100%. My BOSE system took 2-3 weeks to sound right and the speakers to bed in. I also tested the standard system and while OK the Bose is much better.

I'm intrigued by all this talk of running in. My car has it's third (week) birthday tomorrow and the BOSE sounds fab, and did from day one. It would appear it gets better then?
