    Hi all,
I recently picked up a R reg 98' plate green tdi estate and was wondering if a couple of items from my 97' plate hatchback would fit.

1; The hatchback has a tow bar fitted. Does anyone know if I could swap this to the estate in a bolt off bolt on fashion?

2; I have a rear beam axle from a 94'plate 3 door VR6 which incorporates an anti roll bar. Would this bolt on or are the estate variant rear beams different?

3;Are the Load sensing brake balance valves different for estates and hatchbacks? If not I'm hoping to fit rear disc brakes from the VR6 axle.
I know the rear drums are plenty good enough stopping wise, just the maintainence is easier with discs.

4;I'm swapping the front suspension over to the VR6 struts and springs from the hatchback (which worked fine on a TDI) but the hatchback rears wont fit.
However the VR6 combo gave me a drop of about 1". As I dont wish to have a nose low looking car does anyone know if its possible to buy just the rear pair of lowering springs anywhere (no I'm not putting cheap coilies on it thank you)
The only spring options I can find for the estate are standard and heavy duty. The heavy duty ones are a bit shorter, but also thicker. Would the rear sit lower on these?

Any info appreciated thanks. I'll post up anything I find out in case anyone else is interested.

    Sorry for delay; laptop issues.

Yes, the 98 estate and all the cars I mention in the thread are mk3 of various ages and types.
The 98 has the orange oval side repeaters; which will be changed for Clear square ones as soon as I respray the donor wings.
Whilst fitting front fogs and clear indicator clusters from the 94 VR6 I noticed the connections on the indicators have changed. I'm having to combine the two looms inorder to save the headlight beam level adjust on the 98. Also need to get a new light switch unit that has all functions.

So today I swapped over the rather filthy creamish carpet and plastics for some black ones from the hatchback.
The carpets fitted fine, so did the front seats; however the rear seats didnt fit.
There is a difference of about 10mm in the height of the seat back locking pins between hatchback and estate variants.
    Unless anyone knows better?
