    Hello everyone!

Im new here and i got a problem with a Sharan TDI 1,9 2002 modell that has to be solved. Both of the window motor stopped working, and not long after this the air condition stopped working. We delivered the car into a garage and they found out that the window motor in the right(passenger side) was defective. They gave a offer to fix both these electric window system and the AC, but it was WAYY to expensive. So i decided to fix this myself.

BEFORE diagnosing i checked the whole fusebox. One fuse was blown, but it was not relevant. Replaced it.

First i checked the AC. No air was coming from the ventilation, so i guessed this had to be the heater blower motor(it was not working at any speeds settings, so i exluded the heater blower resistor, wrong or not?). I took it out tested it with direct power from the car battery, seemed like it didnt work. So i ordered a new one a few days ago. I also checked the output voltage to the blower and i read 7,5-8 V. So i thought maybe it could be the battery or some wiring? Any ideas?

Second i checked the electric window system on both of the front doors. So i took of the doorpanels. Dismantled the window motors on both doors. Checked if the windows motors was working, this time i used a different 12 V battery. The one on the drivers side was working the one on the passenger side was defective. Then i checked the windows switches on the drivers side, but it seemed like it was can bus line(?) maybe with many pins so it was difficult to measure. So i went ahead and checked the wiring harness in the drivers door and found this in the transition between door and car, DOOOOOOHHH

Pretttttty obvious huh. The terminal was even plugged out.

So the alternative is to repair it or buy a new wiring harness. The wiring harness seems so short and with 10 broken cables it would be a complicated fix. I have read that in volkswagen cars its not permitted to do any soldering. So i have to use crimp connectors, crimp plier and a hot air blower to shrink the crimp connectors. Any advice?

Couldnt find any new wiring harness at ebay. Somebody know where i can order?

A little late but thank you for the reply. I solved this problem awhile ago. Because the cables were broken into the connector housing, there was not enough wire to joined them up. So i had to get a new wiring harness. As there were also 2 wires broken in the left back door i got use for the old contact housing replaced a cable shoe at the left back door housing. Anyway i ordered a used wiring harness from a junk yard.

As for the problem with the AC the old heater blower was not defect( i tested it wrong... doh!.. i found out this when i checked the new one didnt turn on either). As the local garage had checked the AC system for failure and found nothing wrong i reckoned that they had checked the whole fusebox, but to be sure i checked it again. And then i found the problem! The fuse that was blown earlier, which i thought was irrelevant, was blown again. I replaced it with a new fuse AND the blower motor turned on. But after a minute the new one got blown. And then i saw it was coming smoke from the right side washer nozzle in front of the windscreen. I then realized that the heated element on the washer nozzle was defect and was causing the fuse to blow. I plugged out the heater element, and replaced the broken fuse again. Problem solved!
